When it comes to red dots, Vector Optics offers some very interesting tubular reflex sights. We are talking of course about the Maverick line, more precisely the Vector Optics Maverick 1×22 Gen3.
For those who do not know too much about this alternative, tell them that it is a cheap Chinese sight, which can be used both in firearms and in replicas of firearms ( airsoft ). At the first glance the scope looks compact, solid, lightweight but resistant . Aesthetically speaking, it has a nice design. Among its materials we have a resistant rubber cover and aluminum alloy .
Lets go now go with the slightly more technical characteristics of the model :

- Objective lens diameter: 22mm.
- Dot size: 3 MOA.
- Illumination levels: 11 levels (including OFF mode).
- Eye relief: Infinite.
- Parallax: <3 MOA.

- Windage adjustment: 60 MOA.
- Elevation adjustment: 60 MOA.
- Shock, fog and water proof (submersible up to 1 meter).

In addition, all Maverick models come with 2 mounting possibilities included: A high mount and a low mount , as seen below:
Now we have different mounting options that we will have to choose before buying. The most popular alternative for shooters is the one that includes high mounting with folding or removable system .
This feature allows us to quickly release or adjust the mount and has a maladjustment safe so that the mount cannot be released by mistake. So you can see what this looks like, here is a comparison between a detachable model (left) and a fixed one :
In total, we have 3 variants of this scope and the only difference is in the mounting. I explain it here:

- Maverick 1×22 SOP: Fixed high mount Weaver (or 11mm dovetail) and low mount Weaver.

Notably, Vector has achieved that, despite the fact that the new generation is a bit bulkier than the previous one, the 3 generation is lighter than the 2. The generation 2 is still an interesting alternative given that they have lowered their price since the launch of the 3.
Is it worth buying? Pros and cons

Advantages in detail
The product has a lot of quality for the price that is asked for it. This sight is worth about 100 dollars and it is quite complete and solid .
Normally other sights like this only bring one mounting alternative .
The materials are generally good and the product is well designed.
Disadvantages in detail
As expected, the optical quality is not the best on the market , but we cannot ask for so much in this regard given the price of the product. It’s pretty good for what it’s worth.
Batteries drain faster than other models . There really is no point of comparison with other brands such as Aimpoint.

Personal opinion Vector Optics Maverick Gen 3
Personally, I like the product considering the price . That is, I consider it to be a good and very cheap red dot sight. It is excellent for airsoft or target practice.
However, I would not consider it for competition or short-range hunting, nor would I consider it for actual combat. Let’s face it, if we get serious, there are quite a few better alternatives on the market today.
In short, as an inexpensive red dot sight, highly recommended.
