Features Vector Optics Paragon 6-30×56 SFP GENII
First things first, what does this scope have to offer us? What attributes does it have?
Magnification and lens diameter
The amount of magnification on this scope is enormous. The maximum 30X zoom is 5 times the minimum 6X zoom. We are talking about a great configuration capacity in terms of magnification levels.
The diameter of the lens is quite wide (56 mm), which brings a little extra weight to the scope , but also gives us a greater light entrance (up to 90% according to the manufacturer) and this translates into a clearer image ( better image quality).
SFP (Second focal plane)
We are in the presence of a second focal plane scope . This means that the reticle does not change its size when the zoom level increases or decreases.
I’d say it’s a bit of a weird quality about this scope , as for the amount of magnification it would be normal to have a first focal plane precision scope , but that’s not the case.
Remember that, in an SFP, the reticle references are only valid at the maximum magnification level, but the cross is equally visible at all levels.
Turrets
The tactical turrets of this optic are one of its great strengths. The 1/10 MILs clicks feel great to the touch and the ear and we have up to 17.5 MILs of adjustment for elevation and windage corrections.
In addition, they lockable and zero resettable. To reset the turrets, follow these steps:
- Place the turrets in the position that we want our new zero to be. Let’s assume 3 MILs.
- Unscrew the top cap from the turret to release the turret casing.
- We present again the casing of our turret to screw it back on, but this time, instead of the mark pointing to 3 MILs, it should point to 0 MILs.
- We screw the top cap of the turret again.
- Done, we have reset the zero of the scope.
Reticle VPA-2
The scope features a MIL-referenced reticle for precision shots created by Vector Optics and called VPA-2 . It is shaped like a Christmas tree, the posts are a bit thin but the overall design is quite nice in my opinion.
It should be noted that the scope only comes in MILs (NOT in MOAs) and that the reticle is illuminable at the point of impact , with 6 intensity levels, configurable from the left side including the OFF mode.
Purpose of the scope
It is essentially a scope for precision shooting at medium or long distances.
Can it be used for precision shooting? Yes, especially in long and very long distances.
Can it be used to compete? Yes, mainly in disciplines of precision shots at speed, with mobility and in different shooting stations.
Can it be used for hunting? Only recommended for long distances (plain, plateau or mountain).
Regarding the platforms on which the scope can be mounted, it really suits everything. Both air rifles and low and heavy caliber rifles (Up to .338 Lapua Magnum).
Other features
As additional data for retailers, this optics also has the following attributes:
- Eye relief: 100 mm.
- Length: 400 mm.
- Weight: 700 gr.
- Tube diameter: 30 mm.
- Clicks value: 1/10 MILs.
- Elevation: 17.5 MILs.
- Windage: 17.5 MILs.
- Shock, fog and water proof (submersible up to 1 meter).
- Turrets are lockable and resettable.
- Parallax Adjustment: 15 yards to infinity.

| Review |
The scope we analyzed is the most powerful in the Paragon product line and the one with the highest number of sales as well.
Is it worth buying? Pros and cons
It’s time for the truth. Now let’s move on to analyzing the positive and negative points of the scope .
Advantages
✅ Large amount of magnification.
✅ Quality of turrets.
✅ Price-quality ratio.
Disadvantages
⛔ Not available in MOAs.
⛔ Little versatility in short distances.
⛔ Warranty of only 5 years.
Advantages in detail
As we had already anticipated, you can’t really ask for much more from this scope in terms of magnification power. This sight is fully suitable for long and extra long distances (extreme long range shooting – ELRS).
The quality of the turrets is excellent. They feel great to the touch, they are precise, lockable and resettable. It is particularly one of the features that I like the most about this scope .
As with most Vector Optics products, the price / quality ratio of the product is very good. We are talking about 340 dollars on Aliexpress, practically a bargain considering the characteristics of the scope.
Disadvantages in detail
Unfortunately it is a scope that is not available in MOAs, only in MILs. This is a problem for a lot of shooters used to working with minutes of angle.
The minimum magnification of this scope is somewhat high, which makes it difficult to aim at short distances. There are many hunting scenarios where this scope does not help us.
I really don’t understand why the warranty on this scope is so short . This generates a little distrust in me without any need. We should talk about at least 10 years.

General opinions Paragon 6-30×56 SFP GENII
This is the best-selling model in Vector Optics’ Paragon line. Sales are always a good parameter when determining whether or not a scope is accepted by users.
And if we analyze the reviews, we also find shooters satisfied with the product. According to our research, the level of acceptance that this scope has is 90%. The main positive argument that the product has is its value for money.
Personal opinion Vector Optics Paragon 6-30×56 SFP GENII
In particular, I am not one of the riflescopes with that much magnification, but this is very personal. I think it is a scope with a lot of features, and it looks excellent.
For those who like precision, I think this is a dream product, especially due to the fact that its price is quite low compared to similar alternatives.
In short, a very nice precision scope, with a lot of magnifications and a reasonable price.
Good shots!
