Features Vector Optics Marksman 4-16X44 FFP
Let’s first see what the scope offers us and then analyze the pros and cons.
Good zoom amount
This is a scope with a good amount of magnification. It is a scope with X4 magnification, which means that the maximum zoom level (16X) is 4 times the minimum zoom level (4X). This implies that we have great versatility to shoot medium and long distances.
Added to this, it has a lens diameter of 44 mm which is not too much or too little. It ensures a good entry of light and does not add too much weight to the scope .
FFP (First focal plane)
In general, it is the precision shooters who are most interested in FFP scopes . Remember that the first focal plane means that the size of the reticle increases or decreases depending on the zoom that we have configured in our scope .
This allows the reticule references to be used to make corrections at any level of magnification. This characteristic is necessary when we make precision shots at long and short distances. They help us to make calculations when shooting and making maybe a little more difficult and precise shoots.
VPA-MF precision reticle
We have a referenced reticle , which is consistent with the scope’s main purpose which is precision shooting . Referenced, for those who did not know, it means that it includes references that allow us to make corrections to our shots up and down, right or left.
It should be noted that the scope only comes in MILs (NOT in MOAs) and that the reticle is NOT illuminable .
Other features
As additional data for retailers, this optics also has the following attributes:
- Objective lens diameter : 44 mm.
- Eye relief: 100 mm.
- Length: 355 mm.
- Weight: 670 gr.
- Tube diameter: 30 mm.
- Clicks value: 1/10 MILs.
- Elevation: 25 MILs.
- Windage: 25 MILs.
- Shock, fog and water proof (submersible up to 1 meter).
- Parallax: 20 yards to infinity.
Comparison with other Marksman series FFP riflescopes
Let’s now look at the differences between the Marksman line of first focal plane riflescopes . Any characteristic that does not appear in this table is because it is the same in the 2 models.

It is worth mentioning that the Marksman 4-16×44 has a greater capacity to make corrections from its turrets than the 6-24×50. This is also due to the fact that the latter has a greater capacity for magnification.
Is it worth buying? Pros and cons
Now that we understand what the scope offers us, let’s go on to analyze advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages
✅ Good value for money.
✅ Prepared for precision.
✅ Includes rings and additional accessories.
Disadvantages
⛔ Reticle without illumination.
⛔ Only available in MILs.
⛔ It does not have parallax at 10 yds.
Advantages in detail
We can find this scope for under 230 dollars which is almost unthinkable for a first focal plane scope. This telescopic sight offers us a lot of value for the price. It is not easy to find a scope with similar characteristics competing at that price.
The scope comes ready to practice precision disciplines both at short and long distances. The level of magnification, the choice of the reticle, the plane in which the reticle is located, among other characteristics, are attributes designed for precision disciplines.
As a detail, it is worth mentioning that the box includes 30 mm rings, lens caps, a honeycomb sunshade, among other extras. There we are saving a few more dollars.
Disadvantages in detail
One of the negative points is that the reticle is not illuminated. This feature is desirable, especially for some shooting scenarios where we have little contrast and it is difficult for us to see the reticle well.
Available in MILs but not in MOAs, which is quite inconvenient for those used to working in this unit of measure.
The parallax setting starts at 20 yards and this can be a problem for shooters with air rifles , for example, where they do practice shooting at 10 yards.
