Let’s now analyze the attributes of the scope with its primary purpose in mind: sport target shooting.
Within the line we see that this scope is the shortest in its design, and one of the lightest.
On the other hand, in the zoom chart above, we can see that, comparatively, the next four products in the line are more appropriate for target shooting at longer distances , having progressively more zoom as it “grows” the category.
This also impacts the clicks value , which in the rest of the products of the line changes to be more precise ( 1/4 in the Sentinel 4-16×50, 1/8 of MOA in the rest ).
Good base magnification
It has a magnification of up to 16 zoom levels , which is remarkable when compared to other similarly priced scopes. This guarantees us a clear vision of targets not only at 25 meters, but also at medium distances.
Target shooting reticle
The MPR-3 type reticle of the Sentinel line is specifically designed for target shooting. Its setting, marked in 1/2 MOA , gives us enough detail to be able to make measurements, calibrate and adjust the shot to environmental conditions, in a simple way. Always keeping in mind that the click adjustment for this product is 1/4 MOA, and that it must be done at 10x magnification.
This product includes various levels of illumination for the crosshairs in green and red.
Second focal plane
That said we have to remember that it is a second focal plane scope, which implies that as we increase the zoom level, the reticle will maintain its apparent size. This means that the references will only be accurate at the magnification level previously defined by the manufacturer, which is generally the highest, but in this case it is at 10x magnification.
As an advantage, the second focal plane scopes have much more affordable prices , as is the case with this one.
Is it worth buying? Pros and cons
Let’s see in detail the advantages and disadvantages that we find at first glance in this product.
Advantages
✅ Referenced reticle.
✅ Good amount of magnification.
✅ Good price.
Disadvantages
⛔ Second focal plane.
⛔ Regular quality accessories.
Advantages in detail
We highlight its MPR-3 type reticle perfect for target shooting , with a ½ MOA regulation , illumination for low light situations and easy-to-adjust turrets.
As we saw, it has 16 levels of magnification , which guarantees an excellent vision of sports shooting targets (25m) and medium distance.
Unquestionably, the price of the product is low considering its quality and functionalities.
Disadvantages in detail
Being a second focal plane scope, the reticle’s references will only be accurate at predetermined magnification levels.
Although its price is surprising due to the functionalities and quality of the product itself, the extras leaves much to be desired , especially the packaging.

General opinions Vector Optics Sentinel 4-16×50 SFP
We have carried out an extensive analysis of the main e-commerce platforms to find out what the feeling that customers have of this product and, in general, we saw that the reviews of it are very good ( 3.8 out of 5 in amazon USA ).
The ease of use , clear and sharp image and excellent customer service from the brand stand out (this last one is interesting given that it has a 5-year warranty).
As a disadvantage, customers referred to a loss of image quality from 10x zoom, something that should be checked.
The general opinion would seem to be that it is a very good product for its list price .
Personal opinion Vector Optics Sentinel 4-16×50 SFP
A 16x scope, nice reticle and good tactical turrets for less than 230 dollars. Personally, I would say that it is, at least, an interesting alternative.
It is a good scope, especially if you are venturing into sports target shooting . Sometimes starting in this type of discipline is quite expensive and that is why it is not bad to start from the bottom with a scope like this, which will allow us to learn and grow in the discipline.
In short, I feel comfortable recommending this scope for shooters interested in precision shooting.
Good shots!
