Due to the great popularity of this telescopic sight, we are going to be tough in the analysis. We want to see if this product is as good as its fans rave about and of course, if it is worth it for the price.

Features Vector Optics Sentinel-X 10-40×50 SFP
First things first, let’s look at the datasheet to get a general idea of the scope.
- Magnification : Very high. From 10X to 40X.
- Lens diameter : Wide. 50 mm favor a good entrance of light.
- Focal plane: Second focal plane. The size of the reticle does NOT change with zoom.
- Turrets : Tactical type, with visible marking and blocking. With zero resettable.
- Turrets adjustment : Good. 50 MOAs total internal adjustment. Click value 1/8 MOA.
- Eye relief : Excellent. 85-92mm eye relief.
- Tube diameter : 30mm monotube.

Purpose of the scope
Exclusively designed for competitive target shooting with air rifles or .22lr caliber rimfire at 25 meters.
What makes it unique is the design of the COM-25M (Competitive 25 meters) reticle. When the scope is set to its maximum magnification (40X) and the target is placed at the regulation distance (25 meters), the references fit perfectly with the competition target as follows:
- The rings on the target coincide with all vertical and horizontal references on the reticle.
- And the 1.5mm diameter center of the reticle perfectly matches the 2mm diameter center of the target.
Regarding the platforms on which the scope can be mounted, it is specially designed to withstand the recoil of compressed air rifles, pcp and other varmit-type fire calibers (eg: .22, .22 mg, .223, etc).

Let’s now analyze the attributes with the main purpose of the scope in mind: competitive target shooting at 25 meters with airguns and low calibers.
Let’s first mention the points in common that this scope has with the rest of the Sentinel line:
- They are X4 magnification scopes (the maximum zoom is 4 times the minimum zoom).
- Same objective lens diameter ( 50mm , quite wide).
- All are second focal plane and are expressed in MOA .
- 30-millimeter monotube in all cases.
That said, it should be mentioned that this model is the most distinctive of Sentinel since it has features that all the others do not have:
- It is the most specialized of all since it is for competition use only .
- It has a slightly different design than the rest.
- It is the only one with the COM-25M reticle.
- It has a parallax setting different from the rest (25, 50, 100 meters and infinity).
- It does not have illumination .
Is it worth buying? Pros and cons

Advantages in detail
The scope is focused on giving the best possible experience in target shooting competitions at 25 meters. For those looking for this type of sight, it is an ideal alternative.
Compared to other products that seek to satisfy the same market niche, we can say that this scope is quite cheap. With a price of around 220 US dollars, it is usually one of the cheapest.
The entire Sentinel line has a 5-year warranty. It is always a peace of mind to have a guarantee and if it is more than one year better. Scope without warranty, be suspicious.
Disadvantages in detail
We believe that the downside of specialization is exclusivity, meaning this scope only serves a single purpose and that rigidity is a clear disadvantage for shooters interested in multiple disciplines.
The entire Sentinel line leaves out those of us who operate with MILs. Obviously it is a model that is sold to regions that use MOA and that’s why there is no alternatives of this model in another unit of measure.

As mentioned before, this is by far the best-selling model in the Sentinel line. And thanks to this we have a large database of opinions and reviews. The results so far are as follows:

Personal opinion Vector Optics Sentinel-X 10-40×50
To be honest the scope did not disappoint me. If I compare value for money between this and other alternatives that resonate in the market, I would say that buying this scope is a “smart” decision. But, buy it if you are going to use it exclusively for precision shooting competitions at 25 meters, I think we were clear on that point.
The price is good, and I really liked the work they did with the reticle. It’s a nice touch.
In short, I feel comfortable recommending this scope , only for competitive shooters of the discipline for which the scope is designed.
