Let’s go first with the product attributes analyzed from a hunting perspective.
Proper magnification
The zoom level on this scope is what you would expect for close range hunting situations . We speak of driven hunts in closed or very dirty positions where we need speed in the acquisition of the objective.
For this, it has a minimum magnification of 1X, that is, without magnification esentially . This is ideal for zero distances where we need to aim with both eyes open to get the maximum possible field of view.
In addition, it has a maximum zoom level of 6X, which is suitable for medium distances . Sometimes the piece goes too far and we have some time to adjust the magnification level and shoot. This scope also helps on this type of situation with this configuration.
Second focal plane
In hunting riflescopes the proper thing to do is to use second focal plane sights since we are not interested in making calculations when shooting, but we want to face quickly and locate the crosshairs on the objective.
With a hunting scope, our main concern is the center point of the reticle, everything that is around it does not interest us and that is why the second focal plane is appropriate, since a scope of this type does not alter the size of the reticle when zooming in or out.
Also, first focal plane scopes are typically more expensive than second focal plane viewers. That said, it is entirely correct that this sight does not have a first focal plane not only from a hunting point of view, but also from the point of view of taking care of our budget.

This type of reticle is widely used by hunters, for my taste it is one of the best. It consists of 3 thick posts, a thin one (the upper one) and the central point .
In addition, the center is lightable in red with 6 adjustable intensity levels from the left side of the scope. This is useful for low light scenarios.

In general, it is a scope designed for short-range hunting . The selection of features and settings are correct based on the purpose and not only help hunting, but they do not overload the product with features that do not add to it, thus taking care of the price of the scope.
I think we can all agree that one of the strongest aspects of Vector Optics is its prices. These are scopes much cheaper than any other optics with similar characteristics. The Continental 1-6×24 is no exception in this sense.

Disadvantages in detail
The viewfinder zoom setting is a bit slow to change. In a hunting scenario we need to make quick adjustments and in that this scope would not be so helpful. Ideally, you should buy an additional quick adjustment for zoom.
Vector Optics has always been known for having reticles that are too fine to the point that they are difficult to see . It may be that some shooters like it that way, but I really don’t like it. I would like the reticle design to have a bit more thickness and contrast.
Usually the presentation that the product comes with is not very good. We are talking about a cardboard box, with low-quality lens covers and a few other low-value extras. Although this is not so important, I think it is a detail that adds to the presentation of the scope.
